Stables

In a domestic situation where small numbers of animals are kept in relatively low densities, odour problems are generally not great.  In an enclosed stables area where horses are housed overnight, odour levels can be a problem.

In these situations a handful of Smellgone Odour Control Powder per square metre of floor space, sprinkled over the floor/bedding material (for example wood shavings or straw) will greatly assist in controlling odours.  It has the added benefit of enhancing the composting process once the soiled material is added to the manure pile.

In enclosed stable areas a spray/misting odour control program may be beneficial.  This can be implemented as part of an overall humidity/temperature control regime.  Please contact us for details.

For holding yards, including hard surfaced areas, we recommend using our odour control sprays to build up an odour control buffer in the surface itself.  Please contact us for details. 

Smellgone products are not residual in the animals themselves and present no residue or accumulation problems. 

The microbes used in the preparations were originally taken from the natural environment.  They have since been cultured into a range of preparations with particular attributes such as waste decomposition, and odour control.

Commercial Livestock

Cattle feedlots and piggeries present some of the greatest odour control challenges because of the way the animals are grown and the sheer volume of urine and faeces that are produced.

Dairys commonly already have strict cleanup and wash down regimes.  Smellgone products and technologies can assist in controlling any odour in the immediate work area and in any associated sludge and water treatment lagoons/ponds.  Please contact us for details.
